So there is this misconception at this BBS- even among my own admins- called Liana Will Pick Up The Slack.
No. No Liana won't. She has in the past but no more.
Things like the radio show or the Yo!ricon video aspect were not my ideas, not spearheaded by me, and have fallen apart. We need people to keep them going and do it without me looking over their shoulders. The Yoricon this month and the ribbon idea was 100% Prinny. He came across problems by himself, solved them, and came up with new aspects and never once asked me or consulted me or needed to hold my hand. I LIKE THIS. I LIKE THIS VERY VERY MUCH. I almost fell out of my chair with joy.
I would like this to happen more with the aspects of Y!P I don't quite have time for. This is supposed to be a community run by the community. All the cool little things that set us apart from other forums don't happen by magic, they come from the community working hard to do some neat things.
I am looking for:
- Dedication. Dedication, dedication, dedication. Y!P shouldn't take precedence over your real life but whatever aspect you staff SHOULD be number one on your online prioriety. Y!P should be the first website you visit, the last website you close out, and your friggin home page if you want to staff. For the first time, post count will actually matter.
- Creative people who can have ideas and think for themselves. I've given jobs out to people had had them come to me with a million questions, sometimes not even forward without me expressly telling them what to do. Surprise me instead.
- Responsibility. Meet your deadlines. If you know you're going to be busy and can't do your required job, get someone to cover, don't just disappear.
If Y!P were a business and I a boss, all I want to have to do is wander around, peek into the cubicles, see work is still going smoothly, nod and then go back to my window office and take a nap. From here on out I'm not picking up anyone's slack- I am just going to send out VERY stern and disappointed PMs.
Right now I'm looking for:
Yo!ricon Video EditorPeople had great ideas for this and people volunteered to do this monthly and . . . nothing. So from now on, I just want one guy or girl doing this. His/her format, his/her ideas, his/her way. Video editing experience IS required. Link me to something you've done in the past that shows your proficiency with your editing program of choice.
Tasks:
- Create the Top 10 Yo!ricon Video. Will talk one on one with the staffer to figure out what timeframe is reasonable. The staffer will then be expected to get the video out within that timeframe monthly or be replaced. This is the easiest of the jobs (especially once you establish a template) but requires the most skill.
Yo! Project Radio ProducerSo far Amanda has been doing this solo but the past two months have been a DISASTER so it's clear she needs help. I'd like to up the ante of the radio show to be bi-weekly as well- it's VERY easy to do, honestly, it just needs someone to move the cattle along.
Tasks:
- Organize the radio show, ensure it happens in a timely manner.
- Step in as news or panel co-host if someone drops out or find someone who can at the drop of the hat. I mean drop of the hat, like "Hey Jessica are you doing anything tonight?" "No?" "LOL NOW YOU ARE" drop of the hat. Because of this I will be looking for someone not only social, but has the ability to be quick witted and amusing when talking outloud.
- Ensure the editors get their shit together.
Yo! Project Radio EditorsMultiple people for this one- the more the merrier! I'm sure as hell hanging out here (I make all the admins carry out a task and this'll be mine) out in this respect because it's fun, especially if I don't have to edit myself. Basically I want to take the radio show to the next level where we don't JUST past together conversations but put SOME effort in to clean it up. This might sound scarier than it is but I mean I don't want to make it TOO professional but just. Let's take it from a half star to one star, know what I mean?
Tasks:
- Receive everyone's raw recorded Skype . . . footage? and edit it down to one hour.
- Someone with enough sense to get rid of awkward pauses and unnecessary ums. We're all nerds and awkwardness WILL happen that you can't cut around but . . . the show will be a lot better if you try.
- Someone with a comedic sense who can cut a good joke into an AWESOME joke.
- Ability to go "Maybe this conversation here is repetitive and annoying" and delete.
There's no way to like. Test any of this but if you feel like you'd be good at that stuff and have a strong sense of timing, come on board with me
Channel Yopro ManagerThere are tons of stuff we could have up there that's NOT Nanchatte but I'm too busy tending to the "superbestfureindozu" channel that I don't . . . do it, or even tell Jko to do it, so someone need to take it upon themselves to tend to that poor dead channel. This and the Radio Show Producer are the jobs that require the least creative ability (unless you WANT to be creative which YAY) so if you don't feel that's your strength but are dedicated and want to help out, those are the jobs for you and this one is easier.
Tasks
- Upload the radio show to the channel
- Contact producers of community based projects (huge sign up dubs that include everyone, projects like AI-dol, whatever) or original projects that were born from the mushed up retard brains of our members (Hello! Douboutsen - Nanchatte Renai) and request to be posted on channelyopro.
- Just . . . upload shit dammit XD
Now the thing about this is that
if I can't find staff for these things, we will no longer even attempt them. Again . . . you guys, I can't have a life, have fun in my hobby, run this forum AND take care of EVERY community aspect. In fact I can't really do the other three things anyway! So please, if you want to see things like the radio show continue, see the Yoricon top 10 video, or have Yo! Project have a representative on youtube YOU GUYS need to do it.
If you'd like to apply,
send me a PM. Please state why you are interested in whatever aspect and what experience you may have in it. From there I'll ask around about your reliability since I know, like, everyone XD So let's hope you have a good record! The second I find someone who fits the reliable bill, they'll be "hired", so no real deadline here unless you are REALLY EXCITED about a job for some reason and want to snag it before anyone else?
